MiAK-MAK QUALITY ASSURANCE CERTIFICATE
(Approved by 15.02.2021 MiAK Board of Directors)

The main purpose of the Association for Accreditation of Architectural Education Board (MiAK-MAK) is to contribute to the development of architectural education by continuously assessing its quality and competence. Thus, it aims to educate well-equipped architects with quality education who can produce environments that will improve the quality of life in society.

Service-oriented: Accreditation of architectural education programs, whether voluntarily requested by the educational institution itself or mandated by the competent authorities, aims primarily to ensure, in the public interest, that the standards achieved by those who successfully complete the education program and graduate are adequate in terms of the design, technical and professional skills required for competent professional practice and the ethical formation acquired.

Standards and flexibility: The principle of MiAK-MAK's accreditation policy is to secure its own independent standards while ensuring flexibility in different approaches and aiming for and sustaining high standards in both education and the accreditation process.

Competence: It is adopted that MiAK-MAK Members have sufficient qualifications in terms of education and experience, are experienced in architectural design, professional practice, and education, and embrace the values of professional ethics. The fact that accreditation is carried out by people with certain positions in the architectural profession will ensure an objective evaluation and a broad and comprehensive view of architecture. Priority is given to those who will take part in the accreditation processes to be competent, by virtue of their education and experience, to assess Architecture Programs and to make recommendations for the guidance or modification of these Programs.

Ethical behavior: MiAK-MAK Members and those who voluntarily take part in the processes have adopted a high level of ethical approach as responsible individuals, transparent and accountable. They have adopted the principle of exhibiting professional behavior by avoiding conflicts of interest within the framework of ethical rules.

Transparency and Accountability: MiAK-MAK is responsible for informing and holding accountable its stakeholders and the public about all its activities, especially program evaluation and accreditation activities.
